Wiener Neustadt, Austria

University of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule Wiener Neustadt or FHWN) is located in the Austrian city of Wiener Neustadt in the state of Lower Austria. Wiener Neustadt is about a 30 minute train ride south of the capital city Vienna. Wiener Neustadt is near the border of Austria, making it a quick train ride to many nearby countries and conveniently located in the heart of Europe. It is also near the Alps, making it a great destination to visit the mountains whether it’s during the summer or winter. The weather stays relatively cool year-round with summer months getting as high as 80 degrees. The population of Wiener Neustadt is around 46,000 people.


FHWN has approximately 2,600 students at the Wiener Neustadt campus and 4,500 students across 5 campuses. Students enroll in business classes of the equivalent of 12 U.S. credit hours and also take a German language course during the semester. The semester also begins with an intensive orientation week, which includes optional German language training.
