Name
Colton Farmer

Junior
Hometown
Andale, KS
Major
Performing Arts - Acting
Why I chose my major
I chose my major because I wanted to pursue theatre performance and acting across
other mediums, and the School of Performing Arts has created an environment to explore
and learn more about it. I enjoy working with my peers to tell meaningful, impactful
stories.
Involvement
Student Ambassador Society, Shocker Navigators, Artistic Director - Empty Space Theatre
(student-led theatre organization), Member - Wichita State Performing Arts Company
(WUPAC), Wichita State Music Theatre Company, School of Performing Arts Student Leadership
Council (SPACO), and Treasurer - WSU Fight Club (stage combat organization).
Why I chose Wichita State
I chose Wichita State because it offered a unique program for my area of interest
while remaining an affordable option for my education that is close to home and has
a very passionate community of students.
Favorite thing about WSU
I love the community the most here at WSU. I get to work every day with passionate
students not only in my own program, but across the university in different areas
of study. There are so many opportunities for collaboration, service, and development
across the entire campus.
Favorite hobby to do in my free time
Playing video games and watching movies!
Advice I'd give to an incoming student
Don't overload yourself, and give yourself grace. You can always get involved in more
things, but take your time and make sure your needs are being met before you commit.
This is your time to explore - take it at your own pace.
