Are you one of hundreds of staff and faculty members who have recently transitioned from a remote workspace to an office environment? Join these Circles where we acknowledge and discuss the difficulties of this transition. Anything from health-related concerns to missing our pets to frustration about wearing real pants again is safe to be discussed here.
Used often in the context of mediation and restorative justice, Circles are a discussion group format intended to provide a space where all participants have equal opportunity to be heard and hear others. In a series of turn-based rounds, discussion questions are posed to provoke thoughtful, open conversation, often on difficult or emotionally-charged topics. This is a unique method of communication, and one that is best understood through experience. Shocker Circles are guided by Circle Keepers, staff, faculty, and student volunteers who have been trained in Circle methodology by KIPCOR.
Preregistration is required, and each Circle is limited to ten participants. For more information on this program and the Summer 2021 Reintegration Shocker Circles series, visit www.wichita.edu/ShockerCircles.
