Join us for a special movie night featuring the award-winning documentary Fire of Love, followed by a live Q&A led by WSU Geology Professor Dr. Melissa Scruggs.

Fire of Love tells the extraordinary true story of Maurice and Katia Krafft, a fearless pair of volcanologists whose passion for understanding Earth’s most explosive phenomena led them on daring expeditions across the globe. Through stunning archival footage and a deeply human narrative, the film captures the beauty and danger of volcanoes.

After the screening, stay for our Q&A with volcanologists who will share insights into volcanic activity, eruption forecasting, field research, and the science behind some of the dramatic events seen in the film.

Whether you're a science enthusiast, a documentary lover, or simply curious about the explosive natural wonders of Earth, you'll find this screening event positively paroxysmal - and learn what that word means!

This event is perfect for adults, students, science fans, film lovers, and the volcanically curious.
