The Rie Bloomfield Organ Series presents a recital by Lynne Davis at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 24 in Wiedemann Hall on the Wichita State University campus.
Internationally celebrated for her authority in French organ repertoire, Davis brings a career shaped by decades of study, performance and teaching in France and across Europe and North America. A prizewinner at the St. Albans International Organ Competition, she has performed in major cathedrals and concert halls throughout France and the United States and is a frequent performer, lecturer and juror for international organ competitions.
Davis served for many years as a professor at leading French conservatories before returning to the U.S. to join the faculty at Wichita State University as the Robert L. Town Distinguished Professor of Organ. She is also the artistic director of the Rie Bloomfield Organ Series and Wednesdays in Wiedemann.
This concert offers audiences the opportunity to hear one of the world’s leading interpreters of French organ music on WSU’s acclaimed Marcussen organ.
