Promoting initiatives for First-Generation students
F1RST GEN SHOCKERS promotes initiatives for first-generation students to ensure their
success and seeks to build a culture of awareness and celebration for first-gen students
at Wichita State. We are proud to be F1RST!
A first-generation (FGEN) college student is a student whose parent(s)/legal guardian(s)
have not completed a bachelor's degree.
At Wichita State University, they are F1RST GEN SHOCKERS.
