Join us for First Gen Celebration Week!  November 2-6, 2026 Ι Stay tuned for weeklong events across campus!  Previews below: 

  • Mobile Monday → Be on the lookout for First Gen swag and information at the John Bardo Center, Law Enforcement Training Center, Corbin Hall, Duerksen, Shocker Studios and Old Town. 
  • Walk-n-Talk Tuesday → Sign up to Walk-n-Talk with First Gen faculty and staff! 
  • Wellness Wednesday → Wellness pop up events across campus.  Visit Shocker Career Accelerator in RSC 266 Pike Room from 10:00am to 1:00pm.  
  • TRIO Takeover Thursday → Visit the TRIO tables in Rhatigan:  EOC, Talent Search, Upward Bound, Student Support Services, Disability Support Services, Kansas Kids, and GearUP will all be represented.  10:00am-2:00pm. 
  • Thursday → Visit the 7th Annual All Media Art Exhibit reception and meet the First Gen artists!  Cadman Gallery, 3:30-4:30pm.  
  • First Gen Friday → Join us for the below events in Rhatigan: 
    • AI and First Gen, RSC 240, 9:30-10:15am
    • Data Walk, RSC 240, 11:00-11:45am
    • Advising First Gen, RSC 238, 10:15-11:00am
    • First Gen Faculty and Staff Community Gathering, RSC 238, 12:00-1:00pm

7th Annual All Media Art Exhibit Ι November 2-13, 2026 Ι WSU First Gen Shockers are invited to submit artwork to this all media art exhibition.  Must be a first generation bachelor or graduate degree seeking student who is currently enrolled and attending classes at WSU to be eligible to enter.  All media is accepted.  Applications must be through October 2nd.  Register your art here! 

Spring 2027

Join us for the Ad Astra Conference January 29, 2027.  The Ad Astra Conference brings together First-Gen students from colleges and universities across Kansas and the surrounding states together for a common experience with a desired outcome of greater persistence to graduation.  WSU Students attend for FREE!  REGISTER HERE!
