The Gun Crime Investigations and Intelligence Institute (GCII) was founded on core concepts of applied learning and innovative education with the guiding principle to transform training into implementation of sound strategy to improve law enforcement approaches to gun crime by:

• Designing customized training with consideration for the unique environmental conditions, resources, and goals of training participants.

• Applying design team principles and real-time guidance for the implementation of Crime Gun Intelligence Center (CGIC) operations.

• Providing broad-access training and education opportunities through online certificate programs.

• Offering mentorship opportunities for operationalizing crime gun intelligence in law enforcement approaches to gun crime.

• Creating customized measurable outcomes to effectively guide crime gun intelligence strategic initiatives.

• Conducting applicable research of crime gun intelligence initiatives nation-wide to inform education and training.

• Incorporating current, operational best practices in crime gun intelligence in  student educational programs to prepare future practitioners.
