What Does a Success Coach Do?

The Success Coach role at Wichita State is to provide support to both faculty and students on a department level as well as one-on-one. The Coaches will help faculty and department chairs identify possible barriers to student persistence and help them develop strategies on how to improve retention and graduation rates among their students.

The Coaches also provide students with academic support in areas such as time management, procrastination, test preparation, note taking, reading strategies and accountability. They are able to work individually with students, assess their strengths and needs and develop a personalized plan of action. Students are welcome to stop by anytime for assistance, however scheduling a meeting in advance is encouraged.

If you are required to complete a Success Plan, you should contact your Success Coach to schedule an appointment as soon as you can.
