Overview

Michelle Locke serves as the Associate Vice President for Finance and Controller at Wichita State University, where she leads the Financial Services office, which includes Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounting, and Business Technology. Michelle is committed to delivering timely, accurate financial information to support strategic decision-making across the university. She is also passionate about implementing best practices and strengthening internal controls to enhance operational efficiency and accountability.

She holds a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Texas at El Paso and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM). Her career began in public accounting, where she specialized in auditing and consulting for public sector clients, including not-for-profit organizations, local governments, and higher education institutions. Michelle remains active in the professional community and currently volunteers as Controller for the Central Association of College and University Business Officers (CACUBO).
