Bio
Ashly Artiaga Sevilla serves as an Out-of-State senator for the 69th Session of the Student Government Association. Senator Artiaga Sevilla chose to join SGA because she wanted to have a voice in student government, advocate for students, and help make sure that students from different backgrounds and experiences feel represented. As a student involved in several organizations across Wichita State, Senator Artiaga Sevilla values building connections with other students and being involved in the campus community. She believes that being part of SGA is a great opportunity to listen to students, understanding their concerns, and help create a more welcoming and connected campus. Through SGA, she hopes to continue growing as a leader while making a meaningful impact on the Wichita State student experience.
Goals
Senator Artiaga Sevilla's main goals for this session are centered around student representation, communication, and engagement. She wants to help make sure that students feel comfortable bringing their concerns, ideas, and experiences to SGA and kow that their voices are being heard. She also hopes to strengthen communication between SGA and the student body by helping students better understand the resouces, opportunities and changes happening on campus. Ultimately, she aims to listen, learn from the students she represents, and work alongside SGA to helpc reate a stonger sense of community and belonging on campus.
Fun Fact
Outside of class, Senator Artiaga Sevilla enjoys thrift shopping, watching Netflix, playing volleyball, spending time with friends and family, and getting involved wiht robotics and engineering activities.
