Bio
Alani Bland serves as a Liberal Arts & Sciences Senator for the 69th Session of the Student Government Association. Senator Bland is passionate about serving other, getting involved on campus, and creating opportunities for students to feel heard. Alani Bland is also a member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, where she has enjoyed buildidng friendships and serving the community. Senator Bland joined SGA to represent studetns and help ensure their voices are heard. Senator Bland hopes to make a positive impact on campus by connecting with students, listening to their experiences, and advocating for their needs. Helping others has always been important to Senator Bland, and she believes SGA gives her the opportunity to serve in a meaningful way.
Goals
Senator Bland's main goal for the session is to continue building connections with students and learning how she can best advocate for their needs. Senator Bland is especially interested in improving grade transparency, supporting more personalize academic advising, and strengthening communication between students and campus resources. Above all, Senator Blant wants to listen first, learn from student experiences, and serve the Wichita State Community wherever she can.
