The TRIO Upward Bound Math Science Center (UBMS) is a federally funded program hosted
by Wichita State University that prepares low-income and first-generation high school
students to pursue degrees and careers in math and science.
The TRIO Upward Bound Math Science Center (UBMS) works to elevate students who have
an interest in and talent for science, technology, engineering and math through intensive
instruction, hands-on experiences and opportunities to learn from professional mathematicians
and scientists in a variety of fields.
The UBMS Center offers an academic-year component and a summer residential component.
Students are required to participate in both components from freshman through senior
year.
