It's Event Season!
April through July is known at Campus Media Services as "Event Season." During this
time, we are very busy with awards ceremonies, banquets, conferences, workshops, concerts,
and a host of other live event types. Campus Media Services (CMS) is a full-service
audio-visual service provider, and can support your live event with a very wide range
of AV and communication technologies, including projectors and screens, microphones
and speakers, laptops, video conferencing, support for videos, PowerPoints, speaker
panels, and just about anything else you can think of!
The key to a successful event is contacting us early and understanding the possibilities
and limitations of your event venue. When you call, the most important information
we need is where and when your event will take place. If you haven't decided on a
venue, consider letting us help you choose based on the types of activities you want
to do, as some rooms or buildings are better suited for certain activities than others.
Other helpful information includes: anticipated audience size, types of media to be
projected (PowerPoints, videos, websites, content from a flash drive, etc.), and whether
your presentation media includes audio. Also, when reserving your venue, make sure
to include ample time before and after your event for setup and tear down of equipment.
We can advise you of the time necessary to setup based on your technology needs.
In addition to supporting every presentation venue at Wichita State, Campus Media Services can also travel to nearby conference hotels such as the Marriott or the Hyatt and other venues, such as the Wichita Country Club. You'll almost always pay substantially less to use Campus Media Services to provide your audio-visual needs than using the hotel's "preferred vendor" or in-house services. We encourage you to bring us the hotel's quote for services and let us provide you an equivalent quote.
