OIR Labs

Do you have a question that you "just need to talk to a real person" about? Then come to our Zoom-based labs! We have instructional designers available to help you with all your online/remote teaching needs.

Zoom Labs for General Questions

Welcome to OIR labs! Our regular lab times are come-and-go, meaning that while we are here for 2 hours during each session, you can arrive at any point during our "open" times. You can find us in Zoom from 1:00pm-3:00pm every Tuesday and Wednesday. If the university is open, we are too! To access the labs, use this Zoom link. Our Zoom-based lab time is great for quick-and-easy questions as well as an opportunity for you to get advice. We can help with Blackboard (old and Ultra), Panopto, and Zoom questions.

Zoom Labs for Ultra Questions

If you have simple Ultra questions, the regular Lab is fine, but sometimes you have more complex questions that need us to work with you to figure out a problem.  We have two options for these kinds of questions.  The first is to come to our own WSU Ultra Lab.  Ultra Lab happens on the last Wednesday of each month from 3:00-4:00. You can access the Ultra lab through this Zoom link.

Additional Options for Instructors

If you have questions when the labs aren't in session, please create a Blackboard case through WSU's Blackboard Support, or send your question to us via OIR@wichita.edu. We will respond within 24 hours during the week and within 48 hours for weekend emails.

If you or your department would like to request a specific topic training from the Office of Instructional Resources, we can do that for you! Please send your requests to us at OIR@wichita.edu.  We will set up an online training for a group of 5 or more. Otherwise, please plan to bring your question to a regular lab time.

What To Expect

If you try to join this meeting at a time other than the dedicated lab times, you will not be able to get in.

When you join the meeting during lab times, you will be put into a waiting room and then invited in by one of the hosts. Once you are let into our labs, you will receive personal help in a private breakout room.
