What is Latinos Lead?

Latinos Lead is a program that focuses on facilitating a seamless transition from college to the workforce by focusing on three areas, including cultural awareness, personal development and leadership skills. Students will gain improved self-awareness across leadership competencies, access to a cross-sector and multi-industry network of Latino professionals and enhance their career presence and personal brand.

Requirements

  • Must show time commitment and active participation in all workshops and sessions
  • Have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average or higher
  • Be in good standing academically and judicially within the institution
  • Have earned at least 24 credit hours at Wichita State University prior to the beginning of Fall 2022
  • Be willing to lean into discomfort to grow personally and expand your professional network

How to Apply?

  • Complete the Latinos Lead application and upload a copy of your resume through the application process
  • Each application will be reviewed and those selected will proceed to schedule an interview with the selection committee
  • Applications will close at midnight on Sunday, September 11

Expectations

  1. Display a positive attitude towards all professionals, students and facilitators.
  2. Be cooperative and stay engaged throughout the program's duration.
  3. Partake in conversations occurring within the program with professionals, students and facilitators.
  4. Schedule coaching/mentoring sessions with at least one professional in the program.
  5. Have/create a LinkedIn profile to connect with others.
  6. Be prepared to ask questions and engage in discussions with your professional mentor.
  7. Participants will need to attend modules scheduled from 2-4 p.m. on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month
