SHOCKFEST FAQ

To help you get the most out of your SHOCKFEST experience, we've provided answers to frequently asked questions below.

What is SHOCKFEST?

SHOCKFEST is the official Welcome Weekend for all new and returning Shockers scheduled for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday leading up to the first day of classes. 

With +40 opportunities to connect with other Shockers, Campus Departments, and Registered Student Organizations, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

How do I attend SHOCKFEST?

We HIGHLY recommend that you RSVP for SHOCKFEST to get access to get your FREE T-Shirt and stay updated with all program updates.

You will be asked to Scan your Shocker ID at each respective event/program that you attend. 

Can families or non-first year students attend SHOCKFEST?

There is no programming for Families/Guests during SHOCKFEST. SHOCKFEST activities are for new and returning students, faculty, and staff of WSU.

Who is eligible to host a SHOCKFEST event?

SHOCKFEST Events can be hosted by campus departments, registered student organizations, and community sponsors. If your organization is not affiliated with Wichita State University, please click here for information on event hosting and sponsorship opportunities.

Are there any safety measures at SHOCKFEST?

Yes, our safety measures focus on crowd management, emergency preparedness, and overall student well-being to maintain a safe and engaging weekend.
