Taking place the Saturday before classes start, campus becomes alive again with faculty
and staff volunteering and students having fun. This event welcomes all students to
campus with free food, T-shirts, inflatables, music, prizes, and more.
Welcomefest takes place during the first two weeks of classes each semester and features
dozens of activities. Hosted by various student groups and campus departments, most
events are free, give all students a chance to get acquainted with each other, learn
campus and find ways to connect with the community.
Family Weekend is our way of welcoming family and friends of WSU students to campus.
A variety of activities and events have been planned to introduce you to student life
at Wichita State and to help you become more familiar with campus.
Homecoming is Wichita State's annual celebration of Shocker Spirit and Pride! Campus
is alive with events, student competitions and welcomes Shockers from the campus and
community.
Springfest is a kick-off for the spring semester for both student organizations and
university departments. Located in the Heskett Center Gym, this event acts as a way
for WSU students to check out the many different organizations we have on campus,
as well as discover the amazing resources this campus offers.
Hippodrome is WSU's longest standing tradition where groups of students write, produce
and act out their own 20-25 minute skit. In between each skit students perform variety
acts in their own competition for cash prizes.
All graduating students, and up to two (2) guests each, are invited to attend this
inaugural event. Join us for light hors d'oeuvres, photo fun, door prizes and music.
