Jul 25, 2011 — By WSU News Services — A Trek of Remembrance will take place Aug. 12-14 to visit the mountainside site of the 1970 Wichita State football plane crash, in which 31 Shockers lost their lives. Travelers depart Wichita on Friday, Aug. 12, hike the mountain Saturday, and return to Wichita Sunday, Aug. 14. Colorado alumni also will be invited to join the hike.
