Campus life in spring 2018

Spring 2018 brought many cool student events to campus.

Pet-a-Pug comes to Wichita State during finals week every semester. The furry friends visit from Wichita Pug Rescue Inc. There's nothing better to relieve stress than a squishy faced cuddly pug!

Performance in the Plaza brought the vibrancy of dance, music and performing arts to the WSU community in the Plaza of Heroines.

Neurodiversity Awareness Week brought an attempt to break the record for largest human puzzle piece.

Pride Prom celebrated the diversity of the Shocker community and gave LGBTQ students and supporters an event to dance and freely express themselves.

Holi is an Indian Festival of colors that celebrate the coming of spring, brought to campus by the Association of Hindu Student in America at WSU.

The unity picnic is an opportunity for students and the campus community to come together to celebrate the end of the academic year with games, music and free food.

Men of Excellence Coolin N Cones invited the WSU community to enjoy ice cream and popsicles for a day of fun before finals.

Cinco de Mayo celebration allowed the WSU campus to enjoy food and fun while celebrating the history and traditions of Mexican heritage and culture.

The Toast was a new graduation celebration event held this year for 2018 graduates. Attendees enjoyed light hors d'oevres, door prizes and a champagne toast. All attending graduates also received a free WSU themed champagne flute.

Commencement ceremonies occurred on May 12 this year and recognized all 2018 doctorate, master's and undergraduate candidates for graduation. Each ceremony concluded with a blast of golden streamers from the main stage.
