Wichita State has named Dr. Jamarco Clark as its next vice president for Student Affairs, effective July 1.
Clark currently serves as vice chancellor for Student Affairs at the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS). In that role, he provides executive leadership for the Division of Student Affairs and the Department of Athletics, overseeing strategy, operations, fiscal stewardship and personnel across 22 departments and units.
He is an active scholar and graduate faculty member, teaching in online doctoral and master’s programs in higher education leadership. His research and publications focus on workplace wellbeing, trauma‑informed supervision and the experiences of student affairs professionals.
He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and has been appointed by governors in Illinois and Iowa to statewide service commissions. He is currently serving on the SERVE Illinois Commission and previously on Volunteer Iowa, where he contributed to advancing civic engagement and volunteerism initiatives. He holds an Ed.D. from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, a master’s degree in Strategic Leadership from Mount Mercy University in Nebraska, and a bachelor’s degree in Educational Foundations from Iowa Wesleyan University.
At Wichita State, Clark looks forward to working collaboratively across campus to strengthen Student Affairs as a strategic partner in fostering a supportive, engaging where all students can reach their full potential.

Dr. Monica Lounsbery, senior executive vice president and provost, said Clark will bring energy, insight and leadership to Wichita State.

Kevin Konda will continue to serve as interim vice president and provide leadership for the division until Clark’s appointment begins.
