Dec. 6, 2021 — Ashley Carpenter learned more about biological sciences after she did WSU's National Student Exchange Program where she studied forestry. Carpenter is one of more than 1,100 students eligible for fall 2021 graduation.
Feb. 4, 2020 — Amidst the chaos, confusion and grief of the coronavirus pandemic, Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences faculty are stretching their teaching skills and using the experience for teachable moments.
June 1, 2020- Will Parcell, a Wichita State University professor, created a virtual version of geology field camp. The camp will use Minecraft so students can map the terrain. The Terrain will be based on actual locations in Montana and Wyoming.
Dec. 17, 2019 -- Thanks to Andrew Swindle, WSU's hydrogeology professor, the university now has a hydrogeology field site for students and researchers. This site is the only one of its size in Kansas and the surrounding states.
May 16, 2018 - Wichita oil producer Wayne Woolsey and his wife, Kay, have committed $10 million to build a new home for the WSU's Barton School of Business. The couple also will donate $2 million to the WSU Geology Department.
