FirePoint Innovations at WSU

June 2, 2020 - In March when Ascension Via Christi needed stethoscopes, its usual supply chains had dried up. Wichita State University engineers, working as part of the newly formed Ad Astra Coalition, quickly established a new supply chain to address the urgent need.

May 28, 2020 - Lou Heldman, 71, came to Wichita State in 2007, a time when the university’s vision expanded. He fit in with a group, most prominently former president John Bardo and current president Jay Golden, that want the university and community to think and act boldly. He retires in June.

She made the most of her education by getting involved with a professional student group and stepping out of her comfort zone. And she isn’t going to let COVID-19 get in the way of her career plans.

May 7, 2020 -- Jade Mursch, a first-generation student, chose Wichita State to be close to family and the affordability. During her time on campus, she has involved herself with her sorority and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. She's excited about the opportunities that are ahead after graduation.

Feb. 26, 2020 -- Wichita State University and WSU Ventures have entered into a new strategic partnership with California-based Lightning Diversion Systems, a Ducommun Company. The partnership involves the exclusive licensing of a lightning strike protection system for rotor blades in the wind turbine industry.

Feb. 13, 2020 -- Blind and low-vision Shockers and campus visitors now have a high-tech option for free visual aid on campus offered through an Aira Access agreement with the Wichita State Office of Disability Services.

Jan. 23, 2020 - Wichita State graduate Marcus Wright used his applied learning experiences at the student newspaper and with the athletic department to start his career in digital media. After a season with MLB Advanced Media, he returned to Wichita State and works on photo and video for the athletic department.
