May 10, 2024 - Senior Addison Barnard's list of academic honors almost matches her softball awards. She is one of college softball's top home run hitters and an Academic All-American as a health science major at WSU.

May 2, 2024 - Wichita State’s affordability and location brought Jordan Cline to campus. He will use his major in criminal justice to attend graduate school. May 01, 2024 Sophie Martins chose Wichita State University for the opportunities she saw at the university, which turned out for her as she was elected as the student body vice president at Wichita State during the 2023-24 academic year, joined to Legal Education Accelerated Degree that will propel her into law school and is now graduating with her bachelor’s degree.

Nov. 13, 2023 - Anna Heacock works as an emergency room nurse and runs for the Wichita State University track and field team. Wichita State is home to nearly 5,000 first-generation students, individuals whose caregivers weren't able to complete a college degree and who lack the firsthand experience to tackle college life.

Oct. 5, 2023 - As part of the Memorial ’70 ceremony, football players, friends and families from those years received a piece of Cessna Stadium seating. Former WSU Foundation Vice President Mike Lamb proposed the idea to preserve some of the stadium and share it with the Memorial ’70 group.

Sept. 26, 2023 - Kian Williams, a junior at Wichita State University, is helping the Kansas Aviation Museum chart its future. The work researching aviation connects with the background that shaped a love for history. Williams volunteered at the Reno County Museum as a youngster.

Sept. 25, 2023 - Rudd Scholar Bayle Sandy found a sense of community at Wichita State University and enjoyed support from many sources for her academic and extracurricular pursuits. Wichita State is proud of its role helping Rudd Scholars pursue passions and realize dreams in the state’s largest city.

Sept. 21, 2023 — John and Gail Wadsworth have given a lead gift of $1.5 million to Wichita State University and Shocker Athletics, earmarked for the Softball Team Operations Facility at Wilkins Stadium. The building is a part of the $9.65 million Phase 1 of the stadium renovation plan, which will begin development in the spring of 2024.

Sept. 18, 2023 — The community will soon have a new restaurant to choose from when Two Hands Corn Dogs opens on Wichita State University’s campus Friday, Sept. 22.

Sept. 11, 2023 — Wichita State University is holding a parade next month and is inviting anyone in the community to join in. Starting at 6 p.m. Oct. 6 on the WSU campus, the parade is part of the university’s annual Shocktoberfest celebration.

Sept. 5, 2023 - Wichita State University students designed handrails for Charles Koch Arena and producing around 400 for installation. The applied learning project will make walking up the arena stairs safer for fans and is a response to surveys and listening sessions.
