April 12, 2024 - Alex Day, from Austin, Texas, recommends Wichita State University because of its supportive faculty and its College of Health Professions. Read what some out-of-state students have to say about why they chose WSU — and Wichita — as their new home.

The seventh cohort of Rudd Scholars includes 15 Kansas high schools who have chosen to attend Wichita State University. Each Rudd Scholar will receive a full-ride scholarship, which includes tuition, fees, on-campus housing, and considerable networking and coaching support along the way.

March 28, 2024 – A new partnership between Heartspring and Wichita State University’s College of Health Professions will bring faculty and students on-site at Heartspring’s Pediatric Clinic to provide physical therapy and audiology services to the local community.

March 6, 2024 — Four undergraduate students from Wichita State University were among the 18 students recognized at the 22nd annual Kansas IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (K-INBRE) Symposium in Manhattan, Kansas.

Jan. 19, 2024 - Phase One of the Wichita Biomedical Campus being built in the heart of downtown Wichita now has its official look. The joint health sciences project between Wichita State University and the University of Kansas will bring about remarkable opportunities for collaboration, innovation and research.

Dec. 06, 2023 — Addison Karsak, who goes by Addi, encourages Shockers to get involved with the campus community and to make sure to seek advice when they feel they are struggling. She will receive her Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science with a minor in Health Management and hopes to continue her education by getting her Doctor of Chiropractic after graduating.

To help with their transition, Wichita State offers a number of resources to first-gen students to support them during their time in college, including F1RST GEN SHOCKERS.

Nov. 7, 2023 - Jacey Arnett chose Wichita State University for its physician assistant program and its campus atmosphere. Wichita State is home to nearly 5,000 first-generation students.

Oct. 26, 2023 - Support from the Rudd Scholars program helped Hallie Fritz adjust to college and find internships. She is active in the St. Paul Catholic Student Center and works at Credo Coffee Shop. Wichita State is proud of its role helping Rudd Scholars pursue passions and realize dreams in the state’s largest city.

Oct. 25, 2023 - Wichita State’s Rudd Scholars work with youngsters in the “Bright Lights Educational Enrichment Program” at the Leslie Rudd Learning Center at League 42’s McAdams Park baseball complex. Each afternoon, several of them work on math skills with students in fifth through eighth grade and literacy with students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Sept. 27, 2023 — Wichita State University's efforts to transform the educational experience for students and redefine the role of a university to foster statewide economic growth have yielded remarkable results: the highest enrollment in its 128-year history.
