2026 Professor Fran Jabara Endowed Scholarship Winners: Adeline Lank and Gabriel Shaffer

March 25, 2026 — Wichita State University’s W. Frank Barton School of Business has awarded the 2026 Professor Fran Jabara Endowed Scholarship to two Wichita-area students: Adeline Lank from Kapaun Mount Carmel Catholic High School and Gabriel Shaffer from Valley Center High School. Each will receive $36,400 spread over four years to attend WSU and study entrepreneurship.

March 24, 2026 — The ninth cohort of Rudd Scholars includes 17 Kansas high school seniors who have chosen to attend Wichita State University.

March 18, 2026 — Wichita State University has awarded the 2026 Mike and Mary James Scholarship to Derby High School senior Noah DeVault, who plans to study communication at Wichita State beginning in fall 2026.

March 6, 2026 — Wichita Southeast High School graduate Ronal Bhagat returned to his alma mater on March 6 with a surprise — and a $50,000 investment in a student’s future. Southeast senior Natalia Malcolm learned in front of her classmates that she will receive the four-year scholarship to attend Wichita State University beginning this fall.

March 3, 2026 — Wichita State University student Lauren Hughes has been nominated for the 2026 Barry Goldwater Scholarship, one of the nation’s most prestigious honors for undergraduates pursuing research careers in science, engineering, mathematics and computer science.

Feb. 16, 2026 — Samara Langley, a Colegio del Sol (Asunción Paraguay) graduate, is the winner of the 2026 Lenora N. McGregor Endowed Scholarship at Wichita State University.

Feb. 9, 2026 — The Barton School of Business at Wichita State University has announced eight exceptional high school seniors as finalists for the 2026 Clay Barton Scholarship, one of the largest and most prestigious business scholarships in the state of Kansas.

March 27, 2025 - The eighth cohort of Rudd Scholars includes 14 Kansas high school seniors who have chosen to attend Wichita State University. This brings the greater total of Rudd Scholars studying at WSU in the fall of 2024 to 62 students, the most of any Kansas Board of Regents institution.

March 24, 2025 The W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University visited Valley Center High School to award senior Luke Hoy the 2025 Clay Barton Scholarship Feb. 26. The surprise included an announcement and presentation of a ceremonial check of $50,000, which is one of the largest business scholarships in Kansas.

2025 Jabara Scholarship winners: Wyatt Ochs and Jennifer Sanchez-Reyes

March 12, 2025 The W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University has announced the two recipients of the 2025 Professor Fran Jabara Endowed Scholarship. This year’s winners are Wyatt Ochs, a homeschool student from Wichita, and Jennifer C. Sanchez-Reyes from Derby High School in Derby, Kansas. They will each receive more than $32,700 spread over four years to attend WSU and major or double-major in entrepreneurship.
