Welcome Message From The Director
I would like to welcome all prospective students, current students, alumni, and friends
to the School of Computing. We offer three Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer
Science and Applied Computing. We offer three Master of Science degrees in Computer
Science, Computing, and Data Science as well as graduate and undergraduate certificates.
We also offer a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Electrical Engineering and
Computer Science with emphasis on Computer Science.
As Wichita State University is located in the largest city in Kansas, our students have numerous opportunities to engage in cooperative education or an internship while they are going to school. Students study and conduct state of the art research in many areas including: computer networking, software engineering, machine learning, pervasive computing, information security and privacy, internet of things, data science, robotics, and algorithms.
The School of Computing has roots in the Departments of Electrical Engineering and
Computer Science, and Engineering Technology. It was established as a stand alone
school in 2021. Our main offices are in the center of the campus, on the second floor
of Jabara Hall, while research and teaching labs can be found in Jabara Hall, Wallace
Hall, and the high-tech John Bardo Center (experiential engineering building).
Please "like" us on Facebook, where we regularly post updates on student, faculty and alumni activities and achievements or join our group on LinkedIn.
Dr. Gergely Záruba
Professor and Interim Director, School of Computing
