Background
General Electric (GE) Aviation, the Aerospace Engineering (AE) department, and the Kansas Department of Commerce (KDC) are passionate about increasing the availability of well-prepared engineers. As a result, and with Kansas Department of Commerce (KDC) help, WSU created an Applied Propulsion Track within the current aerospace engineering BS degree program. Graduates who complete the track are uniquely prepared to work in the turbojet engine industry. Indeed, GE Aviation in Winfield, KS, is very interested in recruiting WSU Applied Propulsion Track students to participate in internship and full-time employment opportunities. This program is a great way to prepare for a fantastic career!

- AE 742 - Applied Jet Propulsion (taken as a BS in AE technical elective)
- AE 743 - Applied Jet Propulsion Subsystems (taken as a BS in AE technical elective)
- Elective – A relevant course taken in Aerospace, Industrial, Manufacturing, and Systems Engineering or Maintenance and Reliability or Nondestructive Testing (WSU Tech campus), as approved by the track coordinator, Dr. Myose
Electives include the following:
- AE 703 Rotor Aerodynamics
- AE 716 Compressible Fluid Flow
