Welcome to the College of Engineering! We are excited for you to join Shocker Nation and begin your journey toward a degree in engineering or computing! Our Welcome Week events are designed to help welcome you to the college, help you meet fellow students and college staff, and connect you with resources to help you have a successful transition to Wichita State.

Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Wecome Back Event!
6:00pm - 8:00pm | Partnership 2, Room A131
Get ready for the semester with the Society of Women Engineers! Join us for a fun evening of calendar decorating, where you can create your own personalized fall calendar and get organized for the semester. Enjoy a dirty soda bar while meeting fellow students and learning more about SWE and upcoming events. This is a great opportunity to connect with other engineering students and start the semester with SWE!

Engineering Block Party & Student Organization Fair

The annual Block Party & Student Organization Fair is one of our biggest and most popular events. Come meet and learn about our College of Engineering student organizations and other departments on-campus! Enjoy free food, music, and yard games! Be sure to come pick up your free Clash of the College t-shirt to wear on Friday! New COE students get shirts first! If there are more available an email will be sent the week following CLASH!

Clash of the Colleges Pep Rally
5:30pm - 7:00pm | John Bardo Center Lobby
Join fellow new College of Engineering majors for a pre-clash pep rally! Come wearing your green Clash of the Colleges t-shirt and any other green apparel you have as we get ready to take on the other WSU schools and colleges in the annual Clash of the Colleges! We will be inside for Pep Rally but Clash of the Colleges will all be outside. Please come prepared for the weather.

Our College of Engineering team is a highly decorated Clash champion, and we will need your help this year to bring home our another championship! Whether you sign up for a game or just cheer on your fellow engineers, we need all College of Engineering students to show up in force to take on Clash of the Colleges!

Dessert with the Deans

Come hang out with College of Engineering leadership and kick off the semester with free desserts, drinks, and a chance to win a prize!
Meet our new Dean, Dr. Ali Gordon, Associate Dean Dr. Anil Mahapatro, and Assistant Dean Dr. Jacob Mendez, and hear about what’s new in the College of Engineering and the Partnership 2 building.
While you’re there, explore the Engineering Student Success Center (ESSC) and GEEKS Tutoring Center and learn about the resources available to help you succeed this year. Pick up a passport when you arrive, visit each stop, and turn in your completed passport before the event ends to be entered into a special prize drawing!
Free dessert + new connections + helpful resources + prizes = a pretty sweet way to start the semester.
