What are some of the duties and responsibilities at your co-op?
Some of my typical duties and responsibilities include drafting news releases for university organizations and events, and writing feature stories that can be used for the experience-based learning campaign. I also assist with various office duties when people need additional help.
Do these real-world experiences help with your coursework?
These real-world experiences help me with my coursework because I can connect what I am learning in the office environment with what my instructors are teaching. I can actually see the parallel between classroom instruction and experiences in the office.
How does your internship with University Relations directly tie with your emphasis area?
My internship directly ties with my emphasis area because ultimately I would like to work in corporate public relations and I am developing skills and experience that will be valuable in that career field.
