A Bachelor of Arts (BA) in history from Wichita State offers several specialized areas of study. As a history student, you'll improve your ability to think, write, speak, reason and solve problems—skills vital to success in graduate school and in virtually every career. And you'll be able to combine your degree with other disciplines, such as teaching, political science, journalism and others.

The Department of History at Wichita State has developed a tradition of excellence since its founding as a part of Fairmount College in 1895, with strengths in many areas of American and European history.

The department offers both bachelor's and master's degrees in history. In addition, the department offers a program in local and communty history.  Graduates have gone on to pursue careers in academia, business, museum work, archives, and a range of professions.
