The Hugo Wall School Graduate Certificate in Economic Development is ideal for economic development professionals who wish to expand their skills in urban planning and economic development. MPA students and students from any degree program who aspire to develop a local economy through planning, sustainability and community building will benefit from the Economic Development Certificate Program. This certificate may also be completed as part of the Hugo Wall School’s MPA program.

Curriculum

To complete the 12-credit-hour graduate certificate, you’ll take the following courses:

  • State and Local Economic Development
  • Planning Process
  • Urban Land Development
  • One elective based on your interests and career goals

How to Apply

There are two paths to certification:

  • Prospective students must use the same application as if they are enrolling in graduate school. Select "Non-Degree Admission: Category A."
  • Those already enrolled in graduate school need to complete the Graduate Plan of Study form.
