Admission Requirements

Admission to the Master of Arts program requires a 3.00 GPA in Spanish. Non-native speakers must have completed 24 hours of undergraduate Spanish, beyond the basic language requirement (for example, WSU classes SPAN 111, SPAN 122, SPAN 210): 8 of these 24 hours should be at the junior-senior level (300 and above). Native speakers must have completed 12 hours of Spanish at the junior-senior level or demonstrate equivalent background knowledge. Students with background in other fields (non-Spanish majors) should demonstrate knowledge of the language and of a set of basic analytical tools within the humanities.

Students who have been previously accepted through the Dual Accelerated program will become full time students in the Master´s program after meeting all the admission requirements at the time their bachelor´s degree is awarded (they will get out of the “tentative” status).
