Pollution Prevention
The EFC is partnered with the Kansas State University Pollution Prevention Institute to improve community awareness of harmful air emissions at painting and coating facilities. Through calls with industry leaders, events with the community, and training opportunities, this project seeks to engage and inform the Wichita community on how to improve air quality in areas surrounding manufacturing facilities with painting and coating activities.
There are several ways to be involved!
Are you an aerospace manufacturing business? Are you an automotive design or repair business? Do you using painting and coating techniques? If so, we want your input on how to engage with businesses to improve air quality. We will host several calls to discuss challenges associated with improving air quality, workforce development, and community outreach.
These community events will bring together employers, health organizations, and community groups to inform and educate the public on the hazards associated with toxic air emissions and how to reduce those effects. Employers will also be available to share opportunities with the community.
We will host 2 training workshops in association with KSU PPI and the Iowa Waste Reduction Center. These workshops will feature hands-on skills that can be shared to empower staff to take steps toward processes that reduce air emissions.
Painting and Coating Industry Calls
June 25, 2026 | 10:00am | Virtual
To gain a better understanding of the challenges that you face in the aerospace manufacturing industry, you are invited to join us for a virtual call to share stories and information. We hope to develop this conversation into a recurring gathering both virtually and in-person.
Let’s start by getting to know each other on June 25, 2026, at 10:00am. We will:
- Share a bit about the project and its goals
- Develop a small network of industry stakeholders
- Discuss available no-cost technical assistance and resources
