The Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg) has approximately 15,000 students and is one of the largest schools of its kind in Germany. HAW Hamburg offers a wide range of programs in engineering, IT, life sciences, design and media, and business and social sciences. The school’s focus is on applied sciences, which provides students with a practical view of their fields of study through projects, lab work, and internships. Hamburg is Germany’s second largest city with 1.8 million inhabitants and one of the most dynamic regions in Europe. WSU engineering students wishing to study at HAW Hamburg will generally be given preference over other students for this exchange program.
