In 1952, Theodore and Ralph Gore established the Harry Gore Memorial Scholarship in memory of their father. Awarded annually to freshmen entering Wichita State since 1954, the scholarship encourages personal growth and involvement in leadership positions.

In 1952, the Gore brothers, Theodore and Ralph, established the Harry Gore Scholarship to perpetuate their father’s memory and dream. Gore scholarships have been awarded annually since 1954 to freshmen entering Wichita State University who display outstanding potential for leadership. The Gore Scholarship today is valued at $64,000 and has become one of the most prestigious and coveted scholarship awards in the United States. The Gore Scholarship continues the Gore family’s lifelong devotion to its country’s future leaders. This living testimony to one family’s belief in young people is one of Wichita State University’s greatest treasures.
