Sloane Dyer presents her Master of Fine Arts thesis exhibition, Making, Mending, Becoming | Native Embodiment Through Reconstruction and Material Memory

Dyer is a Kansas-based, Choctaw artist who is currently pursuing her MFA at WSU. Her recent work explores identity as resistance. Through cut and mended paintings, she decolonizes the traditional colonial structure of painting, emphasizing sustainability, resourcefulness, and personal exploration.

Making, Mending, Becoming is on view Friday, April 3–Friday, April 24, 2026.

Join us for an opening reception on First Friday, April 3, from 6–8 p.m.

Gallery hours:
First Fridays: 6–8 p.m.
Monday: 3–9 p.m.
Tuesday–Friday: 3–6 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m.–2 p.m.

The exhibition is a requirement of the MFA in Studio Art at Wichita State University.
