Madison Mullen presents her Master of Fine Arts thesis exhibition, Attention Icon.

Madison Mullen is an interdisciplinary artist based in Wichita, Kansas, working across painting, ceramics, video, and installation.

Mullen’s practice explores the modern female experience, drawing on internet culture, advertising, and historical representations of the female form. Through a pop-surrealist visual language, she interrogates how media shapes behavior and identity by reassembling fragments of digital visual culture. Her work aims to reveal the contradictions between image and experience.

Born and raised in Wichita, she is currently pursuing her Master of Fine Arts at Wichita State University. She has exhibited regionally and participated in artist residencies, including an international fellowship in Skopje, Macedonia.

Attention Icon is on view Friday, April 3–Thursday, April 30, 2026.

Join us for an opening reception on First Friday, April 3, from 6–8 p.m.

Gallery hours:
First Fridays: 6–8 p.m.
Monday: 3–9 p.m.
Tuesday–Friday: 3–6 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m.–2 p.m.

The exhibition is a requirement of the MFA in Studio Art at Wichita State University.
