Join Assistant Professor of Dance Megan Bascom and local slow-fashion advocate and swner of TISSU Sewing Studio, Nina Winter, for an evening of dance, conversation, and sustainable community action.

The evening begins with a performance of Fabricated Need, followed by a community discussion and clothing swap. Fabricated Need examines the fast-fashion industry, the cycles of perceived scarcity that fuel overconsumption, and the resulting environmental and human impacts. By combining performance, dialogue and sustainable action, the event creates space for community engagement and reflection on clothing consumption while offering a practical way to participate in sustainable change.

This free event invites participants to explore alternatives to fast fashion through discussion and hands-on engagement. Attendees are encouraged to bring gently used clothing items to swap, exchange, or reimagine through upcycling.

This project is made possible by support from the Wichita State University Award for Research / Creative Projects in Summer 2026.
