The Wichita State University Summer Choir and Summer Orchestra will be joining forces in a program of toe-tapping American Favorites highlighting three centuries of patriotic music. These include familiar standards such as The Battle Hymn of the Republic and God Bless America as well as some unique period pieces including the Civil War selection The Vacant Chair. The concert will include Aaron Copland's Old American Songs, Ferde Grofe's colorful masterwork Grand Canyon Suite, and a medley from Leonard Bernstein's timeless West Side Story. Come get in the mood for the July 4th holiday with music that touches the heart of all American patriots.
