The WSU Wind Ensemble has been heralded as "one of the finest university bands in the nation," receiving critical acclaim for its "musically emotional and technically detailed performances." It has achieved this reputation through its national, regional and local convention and conference performances and invitations along with annually presenting concerts. The Wichita State University Symphonic Band is comprised of numerous music majors and non-music majors from across the campus of WSU. The ensemble focuses on performing the classic canon of the repertoire for band as well as select contemporary literature. Directed by Dr. Timothy Shade.
