About the Course

This four-day course provides an explanation of mathematical procedures used in determining the allowable dimensional variations and geometric tolerances specified by ASME standards. Course price includes a workbook for use in class and future reference.

Analysis of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) can reduce the cost and time it takes to manufacture. Simultaneously, it can ensure that manufactured parts meet the specified tolerance and functional requirements outlined on engineering drawings. Overall, GD&T calculations guarantee that engineering designs are translated accurately throughout the manufacturing processes and that manufactured parts meet the required quality standards and functional specifications.

Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the ASME Y14.5-2018 standard and the calculation methods it illustrates.

Attendees should attend complete “GD&T Concepts and Application” or “GPS Concepts and Application” prior to registering for this course. Attendees are encouraged to bring examples of real-world drawings for the class to review and learn from.

Attendees will receive a Certificate of Completion from WSU’s National Institute for Aviation Research.
