Suzette Cabrales Hernandez is a business management major whose path is defined by ambition and curiosity. A member of the Widener Global Leaders Program, she values the Barton School’s emphasis on mentorship, applied learning, and connection.
Suzette’s most meaningful experiences have come from engaging with diverse perspectives both inside and outside the classroom. Through Barton’s programs and community service opportunities, she has learned lessons that go beyond academics. She appreciates mentors who remind students that making mistakes is part of learning and that personal growth is as important as professional achievement.
Her academic journey reflects a deep appreciation for both business and psychology. After graduation, Suzette plans to pursue graduate studies abroad, earning a master’s degree in marketing and design, followed by a second master’s in either Psychology or Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Ultimately, she hopes to combine these disciplines in a career that explores how creativity and behavior shape organizational success.
Suzette’s time in the Barton School has included involvement in community service, leadership programs, and cultural engagement activities. She is ambidextrous, a small detail that reflects her adaptability and fluid way of thinking.
Her inspiration comes from her time living in France, where she discovered how much she enjoys learning from other cultures and perspectives. That experience reaffirmed her love for travel and the pursuit of continuous learning.
Suzette chose business management because she grew up surrounded by family entrepreneurs and admired their independence and drive. Books like Rich Dad Poor Dad and the influence of her family helped her see business as a path of empowerment and possibility.
Being recognized as one of Barton’s 25 Under 25 is a validation of years of effort, resilience, and purpose. It symbolizes the balance Suzette has learned to maintain between academics, leadership, and personal growth. Her journey is guided by a desire to learn, explore, and make a lasting impact in everything she does.
