He chose the Barton School of Business after seeing firsthand the university’s investment in student success and the welcoming environment created by faculty and staff. The experience convinced him that Wichita State was the right place to grow academically and professionally.

For Trent, meaningful growth has come through applying what he learns in the classroom to real-world experiences. His internship has been one of the most significant parts of his college journey, allowing him to translate concepts into daily tasks and understand how business operations function behind the scenes. Putting theory into practice strengthened his confidence and shaped his long-term career goals.

Trent’s involvement extends beyond academics. He has volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters and served on the Solid Waste Management Committee of Salina. These experiences helped him develop leadership skills, empathy, and a sense of responsibility toward his community.

After graduation, Trent plans to pursue a master’s degree in sports management and hopes to work for a professional sports franchise in operations or marketing. He has always been drawn to the energy and teamwork of the sports industry and sees his business background as a strong foundation for a dynamic and impactful career.

Trent credits his parents as his greatest inspiration. Neither attended college, but they encouraged him to pursue higher education and supported his academic goals. Their example motivates him to make the most of every opportunity and build a career they can be proud of.

A fun fact about Trent is that he studied French for four years in high school, a detail that often surprises people but reflects his curiosity and love of learning.

Being recognized as one of Barton’s 25 Under 25 is a meaningful milestone for Trent. It symbolizes the work he has put into his education and the dedication he brings to every commitment. He believes that college is not just about studying but about forming the connections that will shape personal and professional life. Trent’s journey reflects his belief that strong relationships, a solid work ethic, and a willingness to learn can open doors to any future you envision.
