Rediet Delelegn is an MIS and IT major whose journey to Wichita State reflects boldness, curiosity, and a deep commitment to learning. Born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, she chose the Barton School for its strong programs, global mindset, and culture of support that helps students grow both personally and professionally.
Rediet is an active member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, the Student Activities Council, and the International Students Union, where she serves as an Event Coordinator. She has also gained valuable experience working in the Office of the Dean, supporting strategic projects and events. That role has been one of her most meaningful experiences, allowing her to see firsthand the care and collaboration behind every initiative that serves Barton students.
Rediet hopes to pursue a career in business analytics or a tech-focused business role after graduation. She is passionate about using data to solve problems, improve systems, and influence organizational decisions. Over time, she aims to move into a leadership role where she can guide teams and contribute to long-term strategy.
Her greatest inspiration comes from her parents, whose resilience, sacrifice, and belief in her success have shaped her character and ambition. Their support in her decision to travel abroad for her education has been one of the greatest gifts she has ever received.
Rediet has a natural curiosity about people and cultures, which fuels her love for travel and her desire to build global connections. She sees the world as a classroom full of lessons that extend far beyond textbooks.
Being recognized as one of Barton’s 25 Under 25 is a reflection of Rediet’s growth, determination, and commitment to building a meaningful future. Her story demonstrates that purpose, courage, and humility can carry you far.
