Ellie Stringer is an economics and finance minded student whose college journey reflects curiosity, initiative, and care for others. She first encountered the Barton School through the AGH Scholarship Competition, where she met faculty, staff, and peers who made the business school feel like a home for ambitious students. She originally chose marketing because she enjoys working with people, then added economics as her horizons expanded. With guidance from mentors, including Dr. Jodi Pelkowski, Ellie is now considering finance to complement her analytical interests.

Ellie serves as President of the Cummings Student Managed Investment Fund after earlier roles as Vice President of Marketing and Communications. She is also active in the Student Ambassador Society. CSMIF has been her most meaningful experience, a laboratory where theory meets markets and where teamwork and accountability matter. Foundational research, clear communication, and disciplined decision making have become part of her toolkit.

Recognition as one of Barton’s 25 Under 25 feels significant to Ellie because it reflects both personal growth and service to the school. She has worked hard to succeed in her own right and to make a positive impact through the organizations she helps lead. She tells new students not to panic about the future. Focus on becoming a better version of yourself today, and the work will present itself where it should over time.

Ellie’s career goal is to enter wealth management at a large firm where she can keep learning, climb with integrity, and help clients make sense of a complex financial world. She enjoys translating information into action and believes trusted guidance can reduce fear and create opportunity. Drawing on her creative side, Ellie relaxes by drawing on her iPad and continues a personal tradition that began with sketchbooks in fifth grade.

Ellie credits Dr. Pelkowski with inspiring her to be a curious student and a fair, strategic leader. That mentorship has shaped the way she studies, serves, and plans her future. The honor of 25 Under 25 reinforces Ellie’s commitment to use her education for the benefit of others. It reflects a spirit that is focused, kind, and determined to lead through preparation and care.
