Overview
Alexis Gandanzara is a junior at Wichita State University's Barton School of Business, double majoring in Accounting and Finance with a minor in Honors Leadership Studies. She is expected to graduate in 2028. A member of the Dorothy and Bill Cohen Honors College, she has maintained Dean's List honors every semester, holding a 3.9 cumulative and major GPA. For Alexis, accounting has always meant more than numbers on a page. She's drawn to the meaning behind the figures and how that clarity can help a team make better decisions.
Her professional experience spans both nonprofit and corporate settings. As an intern at Mansfield Mission Center, she supported donation tracking, financial reconciliation, and donor research, gaining hands-on exposure to nonprofit accounting operations while working closely with a team of five. Previously, as an Administrative Assistant at The Wrights Group, she assisted with internal audit preparation and sharpened her research and organizational skills under tight deadlines. Through these roles, she's learned the value of listening more than she speaks, staying open to feedback, and never hesitating to ask for help.
Alexis also brings strong leadership experience through her work with Church 360, where she has served as a Youth Program Leader and Youth Leader, mentoring elementary and pre-teen students through structured activities, discussions, and team-building exercises. She considers herself a mentor at heart, relying on patience and adaptability to guide others. On the entrepreneurial side, she led market research and strategy development for Protein Pods, a campus wellness business project she later presented at Wichita State University.
Looking ahead, Alexis plans to pursue her CPA and build a career in corporate accounting or finance. Outside the classroom, she stays active in her church community through volunteer work and enjoys creating content around fitness, fashion, and finance, including GRWM videos and promoting local fashion events.
