Overview
Jewel Peterson is a Health Administration student at Wichita State University, graduating in December 2026 with a minor in Business Management. A first-generation college student, she has developed a strong interest in healthcare leadership, business operations, and creating environments where both employees and the people they serve can thrive.
Jewel currently serves as overall Project Support, with a focus on operations for IMPACT, a paid applied learning program offered through the Barton School of Business. In this role, she helps oversee multiple student teams, coordinates projects and meetings, supports client communication, and assists with organizational and administrative needs. Her experience has strengthened her skills in communication, organization, leadership, and managing multiple priorities.
Alongside her work at Wichita State, Jewel has several years of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant across multiple healthcare and senior care settings. Working directly with patients and older adults has given her a firsthand understanding of patient care and has influenced her interest in the business and administrative decisions that shape healthcare organizations, employee experiences, and quality of care.
Jewel is known for being organized, dependable, and adaptable. After graduation, she plans to pursue opportunities on the business and operational side of healthcare, combining her clinical experience, business knowledge, and leadership skills to help organizations operate effectively while supporting both employees and patients. She also plans to continue her education in the future by pursuing an MBA.
