Overview

Mariah Smith is a student at Wichita State University pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing with a minor in Business Analytics. She has been interested in marketing since middle school, and that interest has continued to grow through her education and professional experiences. Along the way, she has also developed an interest in business analytics and creating meaningful experiences for others.

Through the IMPACT program at Wichita State, Mariah serves as an Operations Manager on the Marketing team. In this role, she works on different parts of projects, including marketing strategy, social media analysis, event coordination, communications, and market research. She has also had the opportunity to work with organizations such as the Riordan Clinic and Envision Arts, where she has gained experience working with clients, planning events and promotional efforts, and using research and data to develop recommendations. She also started a partnership with TCALC and 501 schools to give high school students interested in business an opportunity to tour Wichita State, learn more about business programs and career opportunities, and see what paid applied learning can look like for college students.

Mariah enjoys being able to work on different parts of a project and learn something new along the way. She is interested in building a career that allows her to use both her creative and analytical skills, particularly in marketing, hospitality, travel, and culture.

Outside of school and work, Mariah enjoys finding new ways to grow personally, spiritually, and physically. She also enjoys spending time with her family and helping others become the best version of themselves.
