Overview

Dr. Mehmet Barut earned the Bachelor of Science and the Master of Science degrees in management engineering from Istanbul Technical University in 1988 and 1991, respectively. He earned his doctorate in industrial management in 1999 from Clemson University. He worked as a visiting professor at Clemson University, then joined the WSU faculty in 2000. He designed and introduced the master degree STEM program in Management Science and Supply Chain Management in 2018. He is currently the chair of the department and director for the garduate programs in Supply Chain Management. 

Dr. Barut's major research streams are in the area of Yield Management , Supply Chain Management, Information Integration, and Problem Based Learning. 

Dr. Barut has been teaching courses in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Risk Management, Management Science, and Project Management.
